Dr. Paul Bundi Karau (B.Sc. Anatomy, M.B.Ch.B) a resident in Internal Medicine at the School of Medicine, University of Nairobi presented a case of Marfan syndrome at the Journal club at the Department of Human Anatomy.

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Nairobi Prof Peter Mbithi visited the Department of Human Anatomy on his way to the official opening of the management of surgical emergencies course at the Nairobi Surgical Skills Centre on 22nd February 2015.

Dr. Pamela Mandela, Dr. Gichambira Gikenye, Dr. Benard Ndung'u and Dr. Moses Obimbo have been promoted to senior lecturer position through a competitive process. The four have been lecturers at the Department.
We wish all of them well, and congratulate them on this appoointment.
Dr. Kirsteen Awori
Dr. Kirsteen Awori, a senior lecturer at the department, is the new chairman of the Surgical Society of Kenya. He takes over for the next two years from Prof. Hassan Saidi.

Staff at the Chiromo Funeral Parlor took a minute to stand in memory of the victims of Garissa massacre. The Chiromo Funeral Parlor handled 144 victims from the tragedy. Also present were members of staff of the Department of Human Anatomy.
First year medical, dental, pharmacy and nusrsing students began their end of year examinations in Human Anatomy on 20th April 2015. This exams come after 30 weeks of rigorous learning. They comprise of Anatomy Essays on 20th April 2015, Practical exams on 24th April and Vivas from 27th April. The department of Human Anatomy wishes them well during this period.
Second year surgical students went through a three day basic surgical skills training course at the Nairobi Surgical Skills Center from 7th to 9th April 2015. Part of the faculty included Dr. Ojuka, Dr. Kiptoon and Prof. Hassan Saidi.
The practised skills included instrumentation, bowel anastomosis and suturing.
